My name is Jose Alavez, and I am a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. My academic mission is to unveil the narratives, memories, and spaces of individuals and communities typically overlooked in both physical and virtual realms. To achieve this goal, my research centers on the collaborative construction of stories, maps, and data visualizations.
